Achte ATHEA Konferenz

Status quo and new directions for Austrian health economics
Wien, 06. & 07. März 2025

A decade ago, the first ATHEA conference on health economics, “The Breadth of Health Economics”, was held. This marked the beginning of a series of conferences that fostered closer collaborations between health economists from Austria and beyond.
In commemoration of this milestone, the upcoming conference will once again serve as a platform to present and reflect on the progress made in Austrian health economics while facilitating a discourse on its critical appraisal and future directions. To this end, we invite all researchers in the field of health economics to submit their latest, cutting-edge research for discussion with their peers.
As part of the conference, ATHEA will also organise a panel discussion to debate current and future challenges of data access for research in Austria and Europe. The panel will consist of researchers, data holders, and experts on data privacy law.

We are pleased to welcome the following keynote speakers:

  • Simone Ghislandi, professor at the Bocconi University in Milan

As in previous years, submissions for presentation are welcome in all fields of health economics and health policy, including long-term care, and are not restricted to the conference topic.
